I made these paintings through my pregnancy. It was a period with a lot of feelings, expectations but also fears and insecurities. The image of a woman who is being chased or eaten by the birds was haunting my mind. In these works the birds symbolize the freedom, but also the arrogance that a life without limits can bring. They can also express the hunger for exploration and new experiences, the openess to life itself. The woman could be in any case myself being eaten by the birds ..
